Ryan Drane is a Writer, Director and Comedian originally from the midwest, he became pop-culture obsessed at a young age when someone foolishly showed him SNL. He directed two plays and acted in another nine before he had graduated from high school. In college Ryan was accepted into a prestigious Electronic Arts program at Missouri State University and led a team in directing their final animated senior thesis project.
After graduation Ryan moved to Los Angeles and did VFX work on the Sony movie, Terrordactyl, about a bunch of Pterodactyl's from space. Before landing his dream job as a Sketch Performer, Writer and Video Producer at Circa Laughs lead by David Zucker (Airplane!). He has also directed for, Wall of Entertainment, with Joivan Wade (Cyborg on HBO's, Doom Patrol), he's made content for Taco Bell/Subway and has done VFX work for Cracked. For the past four years Ryan has directed a weekly live music show that reaches over eight thousand viewers.
He loves taking an idea from a small thought on paper to a fully realized piece of content, his creativity and organization help him dream up new concepts, lead teams and guide projects from start to finish. He's a strong communicator who has the skills to hop through complex production processes and lead projects that run smoothly from conception to the final edit.
Rocket Wrecked is a comic about a strange group of Aliens, Robots and Monsters that crash land on Earth and search for a way to get back into space.
The series will follow these Aliens as they slowly make their way out of the woods and into human civilization. They eventually find an old rusty farm truck and head towards the city. This series is more about the journey than the destination and will follow them as they explore the planet, slowly understanding humans.
The first issue is 35 pages, the pencils are finished, the cover and first 21 pages are fully colored. This will turn into a continuing comic book series, following the aliens on their journey to find a new spaceship.
Revenge Salad is a feature film comedy about a crew of gangsters on a mission gone wrong. Revenge, Avery and Jesus are sent to intercept Frank Zinger, a drinking buddy of their mob boss, but when they realize he's not there, everything quickly spirals into chaos-- dodging double-crosses, unraveling hidden truths, and facing violent pasts.
An eccentric blend of offbeat humor, explosive violence, and sharp character-driven moments. Characters collide in unpredictable ways, and the madness becomes its own kind of charm. Suspenseful, hilarious, and strangely heartfelt all at once.
This film will be made through crowdfunding, it will be financed through a series of passionate pitches to convince people that this idea is worth pursuing.
